The Brief: Elevating FM Global’s Visibility with the Elusive C-Suite Audience
FM Global was faced with the challenge of enhancing its visibility among a hard-to-reach C-suite audience. The opportunity lay in clear view: numerous companies remained inadequately insured and ill-prepared for the onslaught of natural disasters. Acknowledging the human inclination to dismiss facts but respond to impactful experiences, we set out to counteract disaster denial by instigating a seismic shift within the industry.
Our Response: Pioneering Augmented Reality “Earthquake” at RIMS
The strategy entailed a strategic reimagining of FM Global’s conventional title sponsorship of RIMS – a pivotal industry event. Our approach involved orchestrating a remarkable augmented reality “earthquake” spectacle at the conference venue.
Collaborating with the skilled team at Ars Thanea based in Poland, we embarked on the mission to bring a grand-scale augmented reality earthquake to life. Executed through the Unity3D game engine, the endeavor demanded a preliminary shoot of the convention center. This footage served as the Visual Effects (VFX) plate, enabling seamless integration of earthquake effects. Furthermore, we sourced a robust 1,000-watt speaker coupled with a sound woofer system, capable of infusing the environment with palpable vibrations through audio.
As the Executive Producer, my responsibilities encompassed overseeing User Experience (U/X) design and the development of the Augmented Reality application, adeptly managing vendors, orchestrating event logistics, and supervising the b-roll shoot.
